Gorgeous prose, stellar pacing, rich, complicated explorations of their relationship, and a nice polish of incest kink to finish it off with. Hathfrozen is incapable of disappointing.

This is one of those fics best left to stew in your brain for a few weeks. It absolutely gutted me to see tenderness in such a brutal environment. This fic was extremely, frighteningly in character, and a somber portrayal of the cycles of mistrust, abuse, and codependency at the crossroads of dissolution of self and surrendering to someone else's complete control. The love that tied it all together was the best and worst part. Deeply and delightfully nauseating read.

The beautifully elaborate sentences reeking of paradoxical ennui and desperation that go nowhere at all in the end. A keeper for making a rainy day rainier.

"In fact, I think we've both done enough work for the night," Jin Guangyao says. He has the two needles tucked into the fitted cuff of his sleeve. "Go on back to the disciple quarters. A-Su will be wondering where I am if I don't join her in the garden soon."

Luo Binghe mistakes Shen Yuan for his shitty brother and gets his ass domesticated. This will prove to be a mixed blessing.

Unforgettable. I loved the relationship progression in this one, and the relationship between the Shen brothers. Very fleshed-out, right down to the most microscopic worldbuilding details that make this universe feel lush and well thought-out. The beautiful art is a fantastic bonus.
