I love Denji. If the majority of shounen manga is a power fantasy, Chainsaw Man is a fantasy about powerlessness to a sexually-charged extreme. Denji wants things the way an animal wants things: recklessly, impolitely, and enthusiastically. These aspects of his character are endlessly charming to me – he stumbles through life without knowing what he wants longterm, taking what he can get, and managing to find happiness no matter how horrible things are and continue to be. For these reasons, Denji is something of an inspiration to me.
